OwlVision was created out of necessity — I needed a reliable way to photograph my coins for sale and document my personal collection with clarity and consistency. Traditional lighting setups were expensive, complicated, and often produced glare or uneven reflections that hid a coin’s true details.

OwlVision solves that problem. It transforms your phone into a professional coin studio, delivering museum-quality, glare-free photos in minutes. Whether you’re selling online or archiving your collection, OwlVision helps you capture every coin exactly as it deserves to be seen.

OwlVision turns your iPhone or Android phone into a professional coin studio. In just a few minutes, you’ll be ready to capture museum-quality photos of your raw coins — perfect for sharing, selling, or documenting your collection. 

Your kit includes everything you need to get started:

• OwlVision Tube – your precision imaging chamber
• Ring Light Clip – ensures even, professional lighting

• Place the OwlVision tube upright on a stable surface.
• Insert your coin with the side you want to photograph facing upward.
• Clean your phone’s camera lens with a soft cloth for sharper images.
• Clip the ring light directly over your phone’s main camera lens.

• Mode: Photo (avoid Portrait, Night, or HDR modes)
• Zoom: 1x (no digital zoom)
• Flash: Off — the ring light does the lighting
• Focus: Tap the coin center
• Exposure/Brightness: Lower slightly if highlights are too bright
• Grid Lines: On, to help center your coin

• Hold your phone directly above the OwlVision tube, lens centered.
• Keep the phone parallel to the tube — no tilt or angle.
• Turn on the ring light and adjust brightness until the coin is evenly lit and glare-free.
• Tap to focus, adjust brightness if needed, and take 3–5 shots with slightly different exposures.
• Review your photos and keep the sharpest, best-lit one.

• Open your favorite photo app (Google Photos or iPhone Photos).
• Tap Edit and crop out the edges of the OwlVision tube.
• Fine-tune brightness, contrast, and sharpness as needed.
• Save your final image — ready for listings, grading, or your digital archive.

• Android (Google Photos):
  Press and hold on the coin after cropping → preview the isolated subject → tap Save copy to save the version without background.
• iPhone (iOS 16+):
  Press and hold on the coin until it “lifts” → choose Share → Save Image to keep the coin with a transparent or plain background.
